Description
Andromeda project is quickly becoming one of the most well known projects in Panama as well as overselas! The developers are investing a lot of time and energy in promoting the project and the area of Pedasi. Pedasi is becoming one of the best places for real estate investment in Panama. The government has very big plans for Azuero and Pedasi specifically and everybody looks forward to the continuing growth of the area.
The lots start from 800 square meters to 3,350 square meters. The topography allows to almost all the lots to have ocean view and there are plenty with beach front. The current situation in terms of progress of the project is as follows.
• The first base of tosca (the material that is used for roads) has been installed on all the roads of phase 1 in the last 3 weeks and we are about to start the second base!
• Landscaping is in progress. For the landscaping the focus is based on a ‘’Green Plan’’ as should be the landscaping designers. This company that was hired is considered one of the top landscaping companies in Central America and is involved with many famous projects such as: Hilton, Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons and more. The decision to work with Green Plan has been made based on their very high performance and good reputation in Central and South America. The landscaping has been designed with respect to nature and the environment of the project.
• The first phase of the road drainage system was started before the rainy season. This is in order to be able to continue the rest of the infrastructure work.
• In the upcoming weeks the construction of the gate will start.
• In order to have more green areas, the company decided to create a small lake inside the project (Andromeda Lake). The first part of creating Andromeda Lake is under construction at the moment and will be improved with the landscaping progress.
The design of the houses were in charge of the most famous Panamanian architect Ignacio Mallol in association with worldwide renowm Architect Ronald Zurcher. There are more than 8 to ten models to choose. Once you buy the lot, then you have two years to build the house and in case you want to do some changes, it is perfectable acceptable if it does not disturb the consistent style that is handled in the resort. There have been allocated areas for future small condos and a boutique hotel, as well as a little marina facility that can be overlook in the master plan.
Why Pedasi and The Azuero Peninsula?
The owners of the land in Pedasi agreed that the future of Panama beach tourism and real estate development will be concentrated in Pedasi. This tip of the Azuero Peninsula is special for a variety of reasons.
Top Reasons For Investing In The Region
1. Topography & Geography – Pedasi is a small town located on the Southeast Coast of Panama’s Azuero Peninsula. At present, the town is not much more than a quiet, inland fishing village. It is a few minutes’ drive to a small boat ramp and a stone’s throw to several very attractive beaches. The area enjoys a topography that is rare on Panama’s relatively flat (and somewhat boring) Pacific Coast. Unlike other less attractive coastal regions, this section of the Azuero Peninsula has more rugged beaches, whiter sand and scenic bluffs overlooking the ocean. It reminds one of California…or Costa Rica. This zone is also strategically located in the middle of the country. What this means is that vacationers who typically do the 1-2-3 tourism route of Panama-Boquete-Bocas will have another destination set in between these already bustling tourism destinations.
2. In Good Company – Another fact that makes Pedasi unique is that it is the hometown of Panama’s former and first female President, Mireya Moscoso. During her term in office, Mireya earmarked funds to improve and beautify this out of the way town. As a result, it is one of the few Pacific Coastal towns in Panama with real charm. Homes have picturesque tile roofs, the central park is well kept and the local charm makes for nice tourist photos. Other key developers are also nearby neighbors on a specific section of coast and are discussed in greater detail later on in this document.
3. Infrastructure – Despite the town’s having no real political or economic value to Panama, the roads are perfectly paved, the local airstrip is in good condition and there’s even a fairly modern mini marina. This was built by Japanese whalers who were promised safe harbor in return. Mireya reneged on the deal and now the marina is home to but a few local lanchas (small boats).
4. Regular Air Travel – As of November 2006, there are regularly scheduled domestic flights from Panama City to the Pedasi airstrip. This means that Pedasi now joins David and Bocas del Toro as the 3rd major stop on the tourism trail. The other two regions are already booming with tourism and prices are already soaring.
5. Still Relatively Unknown – Because it is relatively distant (4 hours by car on excellent roads) from Panama City, Pedasi remains undiscovered as a tourism destination. There are only three, low-end B&B’s in the area and no full-time beach hotels in the immediate area. This is not for lack of demand. Finding a room at these local hotels is as difficult as getting a table at a popular Manhattan bistro. There are backpackers, investors and local business people there every night in all seasons.
6. World Class Fishing – It is well known that the word Panama means “abundance of fish” in the native Indian dialect. Pedasi is one of the best sport- fishing jump off points in Panama. Marlin, Amberjack, Wahoo and Mahi Mahi are just a few of the species out there. The worldwide fishing community is well aware of the Azuero Peninsula. A sport fishing and dive shop, www.pedasifishing.com has been operating there for over a year.
7. Excellent Beginner Surf – Just like the now “too famous” Tamarindo Beach in Costa Rica, Pedasi has a nearby surfing hot spot known as Playa Venado. This is an excellent beginner wave that is long and consistent. Surfers from around the world
camp on this beach which has an excellent highway all the way to the sand. Several recent surf tournaments, including a highly publicized two day event by the Reef surfing company were held in Venado.
8. Iguana Island – A short boat right off the coast is Isla Iguana, a virgin island frequented by nature lovers. So named for the thousands of iguanas that reside there, it has white sand beaches and mangroves to explore.
9. Big Money Already Coming – Although there is only one major project started in the zone www.azueros.com two of the largest money families in Panama are rumored to have purchased large parcels in the area. They are not experienced tourism developers yet, but have fared well in their businesses and condo projects in Panama City. Any projects these families undertake will add value to the surrounding properties. If they believe in this region, others will follow. In addition to these well-known local families, see the list of “the neighbors” below.

Gilles St. Gilles
Gilles owns the distinction of being the most daring developer in the Azuero region. With a lengthy resume of design to Arab Princes and others of high style and big budget, Gilles sense of aesthetic is truly unique. His project, simply known as Azueros is the most luxurious and over reaching in the area and the boutique guest hotel on site, Villa Camilla (named in honor of his wife) is a stunning work. Many doubted the potential for a project in this remote corner of Panama until Gilles began selling small, $500,000 ocean view lofts by the dozens. It is this development that put the area on the map as a potential ultra-luxury destination.
